<p>PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for accurately and promptly detecting the operation state of roller guide in wire rod mill process and the position of the defective roller guide, to reduce time and cost for checking and exchanging the roller guide and to perform defect detection operation efficiently and reliably. CONSTITUTION: In a malfunction detecting apparatus of a roller guide used in a manufacturing process of continuously rolling wire rod or steel bar through a plurality of rolling mills, the apparatus(1) for detecting malfunction of the roller guide in the wire rod process is characterized in that a plural cooling water through holes(39a,39b) are formed on a shaft(35) on which a roller member(31) of the roller guide is rotated, hinge parts(50) on which a plural holes corresponding to the cooling water through holes are formed are closely adhered to an upper part and a lower part of the shaft, cooling water is supplied into the holes, and a sensor for detecting discharge of cooling water is installed to detect whether the roller guide is normal or not when the shaft is rotated with respect to the hinge parts due to disharmony between the roller member and the shaft so that cooling water is discharged through the cooling water through holes.</p> |
