<p>PURPOSE: An adaptive filtering method considering the property of an adjacent block which effectively reduces an unnecessary high frequency component in a block boundary is provided to conserve important edge information of the original image by providing an adjacent block by removing the high frequency component of the block boundary. CONSTITUTION: If error generates in one block of an original image, the similarity of the adjacent block is compared with the block(S200). If similarity is greater than a threshold value, the presence of the edge is detected(S204). If the edge does not exist, the high frequency component of the error-generated block is removed(S206). If the edge exists, a directivity filter is applied(S208).</p> |
