PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required to display a hand-written image in a display medium on which an image is written by irradiation of light.SOLUTION: When a postscript apparatus 3 is moved from a point P1 to a point P2, a first pixel group below a line connecting the point P1 and the point P2 together outputs light to the display medium 21 during the period when an orientation state of cholesteric liquid crystal of the display medium 21 is changed and stabilized. The position of a point P21 is predicted as the position to which the postscript apparatus 3 moves, and light is output from a second pixel group below the line connecting the point P2 and the point P21 together for a time shorter than that when the first pixel group outputs light. When the postscript apparatus 3 then moves to the point P21, the second pixel group outputs light, and the region at which the light arrives is already irradiated with light and the reflectance is lowered. Therefore, the time until the change in the orientation state of the cholesteric liquid crystal is short, and a user feels that the time required to display trajectory of the postscript apparatus 3 is short. |
