PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outstanding method for producing 3,6-dichloro-2-pyrazinecarbonitrile.SOLUTION: The method for producing 3,6-dichloro-2-pyrazinecarbonitrile comprises as follows. Bromine is made to react with 3-hydroxy-2-pyrazinecarboxamide or its salt under the presence of a base, after obtaining 6-bromo-3-hydroxy-2-pyrazinecarboxamide or its salt, and a chlorination agent is made to react with obtained 6-bromo-3-hydroxy-2-pyrazinecarboxamide or its salt under the presence of a base. The production method is characterized in that (1) the operation is simple, (2) the waste liquid of strong acidity containing concentrated sulfuric acid is not generated, (3) the nitrogen dioxide gas does not generate, (4) the yield is high, or the like, and is useful as an industrial production method of 3,6-dichloro-2-pyrazinecarbonitrile. |
