PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus capable of obtaining a two-dimensional distribution image of high spatial resolution for each kind of target object, to provide a method and apparatus capable of efficiently conducting generation of secondary ions deriving from constituents of a living tissue and for determining the distribution state of constituents of a living tissue at a high sensitivity, and to provide a method and apparatus for determining the distribution state of constituents of a living tissue with superior quantitative properties.SOLUTION: Ionization of a target object is promoted to fly the target object using a substance for promoting the ionization of the target object when information on the target object is acquired using time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry.
