PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component and its mounting structure which allow height reduction of the electronic component when the electronic component is mounted on a circuit board.SOLUTION: The electronic component 1 includes a component body 2 having a rectangular parallelepipedic capacitor body 4 and a pair of terminal electrodes 5 disposed on the side faces 4a and 4b of the capacitor body 4, and metal terminals 3 having board connecting parts 10 which are to be connected to terminal connecting parts 9 extended to cover at least part of the terminal electrodes 5 to connect thereto and which are to be connected to a circuit board 15 and which are connected to the terminal connecting parts 9 to extend in the direction substantially perpendicular to the terminal connecting parts 9. The board connecting parts 10 are located to be within the range of the thickness T of the component body 2. When the electronic component 1 is mounted on the circuit board 15, the electronic component 1 is housed in a through-hole 16 of the circuit board 15, and the board connecting parts 10 located within the range of the thickness T of the component body 2 are connected to connection intended areas 17 on the circuit board 15. |
