PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate color shift correction for every individual device.SOLUTION: A temperature detecting section 37 detects the ambient temperature of an image forming section 29 for color-developing toner images of a plurality of colors on an image carrier 31. A storage section 39 pre-stores a standard correction table composed of standard correction data for correcting the color shift between the toner images for every ambient temperature difference of the image forming section 29. A color shift detecting section 41 detects an amount of color shift from the color shift detection mark formed on the image carrier 31. A forming section 43 forms an actual correction table by correlating the detected amount of color shift with each ambient temperature difference of the image forming section 29. When the difference between the standard correction table and the actual correction table in the amount of color shift exceeds a predetermined value, a table switching section 45 switches the standard correction table to the actual correction table. A correction control section 47 controls color shift correction in the image forming section 29 based on the standard correction table or actual correction table to which the table has been switched. |
