PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuously producing polycarbonate having a scarce amount of foreign substances including fish eyes and having an excellent hue, producing it stably from the beginning of the production over a long period.SOLUTION: In the method for producing polycarbonate, a plurality of polymerization baths having stirrers are arranged in series and a polymerization solution is made to flow in from upstream and discharged downstream to carry out melt polymerization from a dihydroxy compound and carbonic diester. The inlet port of the polymerization bath is set at a position lower than the liquid level during the regular operation, and the rotation numbers of the stirrers in the polymerization baths having a liquid level equal to or lower than the position of the inlet port are 0.1 to 0.7 times the rotation number of the stirrer during the regular operation of the polymerization bath. |
