The present invention discloses a method for transmitting uplink relay sub-frames, and the method includes that an uplink relay sub-frame is divided into two symbol segments which are separated from each other by a guard interval, where the two symbol segments and the guard interval fill up the entire uplink relay sub-frame exactly; uplink signals are transmitted to an upper-level network node in the first symbol segment; uplink signals from a lower-level network node are received in the second symbol segment; and no uplink transmission or reception is performed in the guard interval. The present invention also discloses a relay station. With the present invention, uplink measurement can be performed on subscriber apparatus; the scheduling gain is increased; and the communication quality is improved.
