The cover (6) has a covering layer (7), and a knitted fabric (8) arranged below the covering layer and made of a cut-firm material. The knitted fabric exhibits larger mesh size in transitional areas (C), during mounting of the cover at a vehicle e.g. bus, seat, than that in a middle area (A) adjusted in a side of the seat, where the side is aligned forwards to the middle area. The number of meshes in the middle area of the fabric amounts to 2 to 4 meshes per centimeter. The number of meshes in the transitional areas of the fabric amounts to 0.4 to 2 meshes per centimeter. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle seat.
