PURPOSE: A digital set-top box online management system and an authenticating method thereof are provided to remove a separate hardware in order to execute an authentication and compensation process by executing an authentication process using a random number table generating method. CONSTITUTION: A digital set-top box(100) and a management server(200) are interconnected through a network(300). The management server is connected to the network. The management server is a server capable of updating a digital set-top box which is registered to a management target and downloading pay contents after an authentication process. Various product authentic goods information including the unique key information of the digital set-top box are saved in a database(210).
