PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start a vehicle in a low temperature environment to minimize the time spent by the vehicle during the operation thereof within a resonance frequency zone, and to protect a battery.SOLUTION: When an actual engine speed is determined to reach a first target engine speed, or when it is determined to pass a time-based predetermined threshold at the fourth step, the target engine speed of an engine is set to a second target engine speed which is larger than a resonance frequency speed of a damper to transfer from an engine start mode to a normal operating mode.
