PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out an energizing processing without being limited to a range for energizing current, improving the initial performance of the fuel cell and handling damages or failures in the fuel cell.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system is provided with the fuel cell 10 having a cell stack 12 and has an energizing processing device 30 and a voltage detection device 20 in the cell stack 12, before connecting an outside load 14 to the fuel cell 10. In this case, the fuel cell system has an energizing means 40a for energizing the current for initial performance improvement to the cell stack 12 by the energizing processing device 30; a voltage variation measuring means 40b for measuring a variation in the detected voltage, when the current for initial performance improvement is energized to the cell stack 12; a determination means for voltage variation 40c for determining whether the voltage variation is a prescribed threshold or more; and an energizing current increase/decrease 40d adjustment means for reducing the current for initial performance improvement to a value makes voltage variation to become the threshold or less, when it is determined that the voltage variation is a prescribed threshold or more. |
