PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate in which addition reaction is highly selective and a solid material derived from a catalyst has favorable solubility in a reaction liquid, and which avoids deposition of the solid material during addition reaction and solidification of the solid material derived from a catalyst when purifying.SOLUTION: The method includes performing an addition reaction of an alkylene oxide with (meth)acrylic acid to produce a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate. A transition metal salt, a quaternary ammonium salt and an amine compound are used in combination as the catalyst of the addition reaction. The transition metal salt is preferably an iron salt of (meth)acrylic acid. |
