摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, although cation exchange resin has high protonic conductivity, it has an extremely low gas diffusion property, and in a catalyst layer as above, a part of pores formed between catalyst particles are occluded by cation exchange resin and a gas diffusion channel is shut off, and so, to aim at a higher output of a PEFC by obtaining high-performance composite catalyst with a high utilization rate of catalyst metal and aim at improvement of an electrode structure with the use of the composite catalyst.SOLUTION: The composite catalyst includes holed cation exchange resin 2 on the surface of the catalyst. For the composite catalyst, a volume of the holed cation exchange resin to catalyst weight is 1.0 to 100 wt.%. In the manufacturing method of the composite catalyst, after solution with the cation exchange resin dissolved in a solvent is adhered to the surface of the catalyst, the cation exchange resin is put under phase separation.
