PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus which can decrease a scale error of an imaging apparatus generated by a difference of the shaft direction when recording and reading image, and can highly precisely calculate the amount of shift of the recording position, and a method for calculating the amount of shift of a recording position.SOLUTION: The image recording apparatus records a plurality of the measuring patterns p1 and p2 on the recording medium in such a manner that a plurality of the dots d1 of a line segment are dispersed by the other measuring pattern p2 or a plurality of dots d2 are dispersed without overlapping with the line segment and positions G1 and G2 of the center of gravity of the respective measuring patterns p1 and p2 approximately coincide with on the recording medium. Thereby, even when the position of the recording medium is read in a shifted direction, the amount of shift of relative recording position of the measuring patterns p1 and p2 on each recording element row becomes small. |
