PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter in which a plurality of inverters are connected in series and which prevents input voltages to inverters other than an inverter with the maximum input voltage from turning to overvoltage.SOLUTION: The power converter includes a gate pulse generator 18, which outputs a gate pulse signal to an inverter 6 with the maximum input voltage among a plurality of single-phase inverters whose AC terminals are connected in series; voltage detectors 12 and 13, which detect input voltages to the inverters 7 and 8 other than the inverter 6 among the plurality of single-phase inverters, respectively; and a control circuit 14, which controls the gate pulse generator 18 to generate gate pulse signals corresponding to the input voltages of the inverters 7 and 8. |
