PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that easily prevents fogging, density increase or the like in image forming operation (including imaging operation) started after pause even if the time from completion of one image forming operation till the start of the next image forming operation becomes long.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has: an image forming device including at least a photoreceptor on which an electrostatic latent image is formed, a developing device which forms a developer image by developing the electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor body with developer supplied by a developer supply member to which developing voltage obtained by superposing an AC component on a DC component is applied, and a transfer device which transfers the developer image onto a recording medium; a time detection means that detects information on the stop time of the developing device; and a control means that controls to perform the image forming operation by the image forming device while application of the AC component of the developing voltage to the developing device is stopped on the basis of information on the stop time detected by the time detection means. |
