PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the blockage of a flow passage by dust of a reforming catalyst, generated accompanied by starting and stopping in a hydrogen generating apparatus.SOLUTION: The hydrogen generating apparatus 1 includes: an inner cylinder 5 provided with a bottom plate; an intermediate cylinder 7 which is provided with a bottom plate having a through-hole 9 and arranged on the outside of the inner cylinder 5; and an outer cylinder 15 which is provided with a bottom plate and arranged on the outside of the intermediate cylinder 7. In the apparatus 1, a reforming catalyst for generating a hydrogen-containing gas by a reforming reaction of a raw material and steam is held in a space constituted between at least the inner cylinder 5 and the intermediate cylinder 7, and a narrow part 11 is provided to the flow of the hydrogen-containing gas in a space constituted between an inner cylinder bottom plate 6 and an intermediate cylinder bottom plate 8. |
