PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freewheel holding ring plate unit capable of further increasing the maximum rotational torque to enable power transmission while the space for mounting the ring plate unit is kept unchanged.SOLUTION: The freewheel holding ring plate unit includes ring plates 1 and 2 and a number of sprags 4 arranged between them. The sprags 4 are energized in the clutch engaging direction by torsion spring(s) arranged swingably and perform swinging motions acting in the clutch disengagement direction against the spring energization under the action of the centrifugal force, and at least two guide surfaces 5c and 5d are combined at the ends in the axial direction for each sprag 4. The guide surfaces makes guidance while they act on the opposing end peripheral regions of the sprag 4, and each guide surface has at least a missing part in the radial inside. The guide surfaces 5c and 5d are formed integrally on the mutually confronting inner side faces of the ring plates 1 and 2 by their respective recesses. |
