PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp-lighting device capable of reducing a loss in a polarity inversion circuit at resonance voltage control before entering into a lamp lighting control.SOLUTION: The high-pressure discharge lamp-lighting device has a lighting detection circuit which establishes a frequency of a fraction of odd-number of the resonant frequency of an LC resonance circuit and a first frequency which is a frequency higher than that of the 0-th frequency that is the frequency by which the LC resonance circuit generates a sufficient voltage to light the high-pressure discharge lamp and detects that the high-pressure discharge lamp is lighted. The lighting device establishes a second frequency between the 0-th frequency and the first frequency and lowers the drive frequency of the inversion circuit 2 from the first frequency to the second frequency, and thereafter, when the detected signal of the lighting detection circuit reaches a resonance voltage set value, or when the drive frequency reaches the second frequency, the drive frequency is raised toward the first frequency, thereby, reduction and increase of the drive frequency is repeated. |
