PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature controller for on-board motors wherein even in running on a road including a climbing road, it is possible to properly control the temperature of a motor, especially a motor system including a power conversion unit, through a simpler configuration to reduce a torque limit during hill climbing.SOLUTION: The temperatures of a power conversion unit 210 and a motor 220 comprising a motor system as an on-board motor are occasionally controlled through driving control based on the road conditions at that time. At this point, road information, such as the presence of a climbing road in the road on which the relevant vehicle is presently running, the inclination thereof, or the like, and the temperatures of the power conversion unit 210 and the motor 220 are acquired first. Then at least either of the power conversion unit 210 and the motor 220 is driven in a power saving manner on condition that: a. there should be a climbing road whose inclination is equal to or larger than a predetermined value a predetermined distance ahead on the road; b. the temperature of the power conversion unit 210 is higher than a predetermined threshold for the temperature; and c. the temperature of the motor 220 is higher than a predetermined threshold for the temperature. |
