摘要 According to the present invention, a light source for wavelength division multiplexed optical communications comprises: a broadband light source (BLS); an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) which slices the spectrum of incoherent light output by the BLS; a circulator interconnected between the BLS and the AWG; and a plurality of unpolarized light sources (UPLSs), each of which is connected to the AWG and to which the incoherent light, the spectrum of which was sliced by the AWG, is injected and wavelength-locked. The light source for wavelength division multiplexed optical communications and the wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network comprising same enable a high-speed transmission of 1.25 Gb/s or higher, while significantly lowering the intensity of coherent light injected into wavelength-locked Fabry-Perot laser diodes in particular, and further lower the intensity of the noise of the light source at the predetermined intensity of incoherent light.
