PURPOSE: A structure and a method for controlling the EGR valve of an engine are provided to enable the opening rate of an EGR valve to be stably controlled since if problem occurs on an AMF sensor, the air amount of a boost sensor is applied as the measured air amount. CONSTITUTION: A structure for controlling the EGR valve of an engine comprises a cylinder(100), an EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve(200), an AMF(Air Mass Flow) sensor(300), a boost sensor(400) and an ECU(500). The cylinder comprises an air intake line. The EGR valve re-circulates the exhaust gas from the cylinder to the cylinder. The AMF sensor measures the amount of air, which passes through the air intake line. The booster sensor measures the amount of air, which flows into the cylinder through the air intake line. The ECU controls the opening rate of the EGR valve according to the air amount of the AMF sensor and the measurement on the air amount of the booster sensor. |
