PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder configured to shorten to the minimum a waiting time taken until attaining a state where recording is ready to start when opening/closing a body cover, and also to provide a method for controlling initialization by the recorder.SOLUTION: During a period in which the body cover 7 is opened, an initialization controller 20 monitors a state change of a part being a target of initializing processing such as a lifting mechanism 6, a cleaning mechanism 50 and a wiper blade part 42. The initialization controller 20 performs initializing operation of content based on a result obtained by monitoring after detecting closing of the body cover 7. |
