PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor having high capacity and improved durability.SOLUTION: The capacitor includes a positive electrode where a positive active substance with active carbon as a body is filled into a metal porous body, a negative electrode where a metal foil is coated with a negative electrode active substance with a carbon material capable of occluding and detaching lithium ions as a body, and a nonaqueous electrolyte including a lithium salt. The metal porous body is a nickel aluminum alloy porous body manufactured by coating a porous body with nickel as a main constituent with aluminum and then performing heat treatment under an inert atmosphere or reducing atmosphere, and the lithium ions are occluded in the negative electrode by a chemical or electrochemical method.
