PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a bischloroformate compound improving productivity and a solution containing the bischloroformate compound obtained by the method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The bischloroformate expressed by the formula (chemical formula 1), which has an average number of monomers (n) of 1.99 or less is obtained by causing a solution that dissolves a dihydric phenolic compound expressed by the formula (chemical formula 2) in an alkali aqueous solution to continuously react with a phosgene compound in a fine flow channel with a micrometer order under the presence of an inactive organic solvent. In the formulas (chemical formula 1) and (chemical formula 2), Ar is a bivalent aromatic group.
