An open-close type compact electronic device includes a first housing 1 and a second housing 2 connected so that they can move relative to each other. The first housing 1 is provided with a first display 11 on its front surface while the second housing 2 is provided with a second display 21 on its front surface. The first and second housings 1, 2 can move relative to each other between a closed state where a front surface of the first display 11 is covered by the second housing 2 while a front surface of the second display 21 is exposed and an open state where the front surfaces of the first and second displays 11, 21 are arranged on generally the same plane to be exposed. The first and second housings 1, 2 include respective contact surfaces 12, 22, which are pressed against each other in the open state, thereby maintaining a posture of the second housing 2 relative to the first housing 1.
