A firmware refreshing method and apparatus, which fall within the field of intelligent devices. The method comprises: when an electronic device stays at a start-up stage, detecting whether an access device connected to the electronic device is a drive-free device before the start-up stage (101); if it is detected that the access device is the drive-free device, writing update firmware in the access device into the electronic device (102); and when the electronic device stays at a normal operation stage after the restart, running the update firmware written into the electronic device (103). The problem that firmware fails in refreshing because the firmware in a professional updating tool cannot be read when no corresponding drive program is installed in an electronic device can be solved, and the effect of simplifying the firmware refreshing process and increasing the firmware refreshing success rate can be achieved. |
