UVA AND UVC LAMP FOR THE TREATMENT OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND SKIN CANCER.

The present invention relates to the development of a portable device for emitting UVA (365nm) and UVC (254 nm) radiation. Said lamp is a portable device with two types of power source, the first being alternate current and the second direct current (batteries). The Lamp has two attachments for the focused application one to be used in infections in limbs and the other in the trunk of the body. This lamp can be used alone or in combination with conventional creams and/or antibiotics. The invention shows that the A and C ultraviolet rays (UVA and UVC) are elicitors of antimicrobial peptides in human keratinocytes and are useful for the treatment of infectious diseases and skin cancer.
