PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet ray luminescent material and method for producing the same, that can emit an ultraviolet ray having a shorter wavelength, and furthermore that has an excellent ultraviolet ray extraction property.SOLUTION: Provided is an ultraviolet ray luminescent material that contains, as a main component, a crystalline oxide semiconductor at least comprising one or more selected from aluminum, gallium and indium, and in which the crystalline oxide semiconductor has a corundum structure, and the material is produced by a method in which a mist, or droplets, generated by atomizing, or making into droplets, a raw-material solution, is transported to a substrate by carrier gas, and then, on the substrate, the mist, or the droplets, is thermally reacted by heating.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
