PURPOSE: A quasi two-dimensional array radar system using the squint effect of a slotted waveguide and a method for using the same are provided to improve detection efficiency by limitedly implementing a two-dimensional beam scan. CONSTITUTION: An array antenna(410) is composed of a plurality of slotted waveguides. A phase shifter(430) shifts the phase of electric waves from the slotted waveguides and implements a beam scan toward an altitude direction. A frequency transformer(440) transforms the operational frequency of the slotted waveguides and implements a beam scan toward an azimuth direction. A controller(450) transforms the phase of the phase shifter as much as a pre-set angle in order to set the altitude direction of beam.
