<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a cleaning characteristic and prevent effectively a residual adhesion of stored liquid from adhering to the outer surface of a wall of an opening of a container for a thread engaging type plastic cap where an inner ring and an outer ring are formed at the inner surface of a top plate part of the cap. <P>SOLUTION: This plastic cap has a top plate and a skirt-like side wall suspended down from the circumferential edge of the top plate. The inner surface of the top plate is formed with an inner ring 5 closely contacting the inner surface of an opening wall of the container to form a seal and/or an outer ring 7 closely contacted with an upper end portion of the outer surface of the opening wall of the container. The inner surface of the skirt-like side wall is formed with a thread 11 engaged with a thread formed at the outer surface of the opening of the container.
