PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent flickering in an electrodeless discharge lamp in switching even when the switching is performed between states having a large output difference such as between a whole load state and a deep light modulation state, in the case that light modulation of the electrodeless discharge lamp is carried out. SOLUTION: This lighting device comprises: a chopper circuit E1 having at least one switching element and used for outputting a DC voltage; a high-frequency power circuit 3 fed with power from the chopper circuit to output high- frequency power and capable of output control by an intermittent operation; an induction coil 2 connected to the output end of the high-frequency power circuit; the electrodeless discharge lamp 1 disposed adjacently to the induction coil and filled with a discharge gas in a lighting bulb; and an impedance matching circuit 4 connected between the high-frequency power circuit and the induction coil. The lighting device is provided with a voltage correction means for slackening the output voltage variation of the chopper circuit generated in changing over the output of the discharge lamp 1 by the output control. |
