摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine capable of preventing overheating, and deterioration of warm-up performance of an exhaust purifier catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device is provided with the exhaust purifier catalyst 7 provided in an exhaust passage 6 of the internal combustion engine 1, and catalyst activating means 12, 13, 20 for supplying secondary air to an upstream side more than the exhaust purifier catalyst 7 and increasing a fuel amount to be supplied to the internal combustion engine 1 to activate the exhaust purifier catalyst 7. It is provided with an air-fuel ratio learning discriminating means 12 for discriminating whether or not learning of a primary air-fuel ratio by an air-fuel ratio learning means 12 is completed at starting of the internal combustion engine 1, and an activation control means 12 for prohibiting supply of secondary air and increase of fuel amount until it is discriminated that the learning of the primary air-fuel ratio is completed, and starting the supply of the secondary air and the increase of the fuel amount after completing learning. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
