770,676. Stud - and - socket fastenings. CROMPTON PARKINSON, Ltd. June 1, 1955 [June 22, 1954], No. 18320/54. Class 44. [Also in Group XI] A lighting fitting is secured to a ceiling by screws 2 which pass through circular openings 1 in the fitting with clearance to allow both transverse and longitudinal adjustment of the fitting and which co-operate with L-shaped slots formed in plates 3 slidable on the fitting, the slots having open-ended longitudinal limbs 8 and transverse limbs 9 each of a width to permit the passage of the shank but not the head of a fixing screw 2. The outer edges of each longitudinal limb 8 is tangential to one side of an opening 1. In use each plate is slid so that the shank of the screw enters the longitudinal limb 8 and the fitting is then moved transversely so that the shank enters the transverse limb 9; the screw is then tightened up. |
