The method involves using a double-layered film, where a shell is supplied. A vacuum is created primarily above the film and then in other areas within the surroundings of the shell. A stronger pulsed vacuum is created above the film in comparison to the other areas of the shell. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for gas-tight packaging of food, particularly meat pieces.
