ROBUST SIGNAL TRANSMISSION IN DIGITAL TELEVISION BRAODCASTING

PURPOSE: A robust signal transmission in a digital television broadcasting for performing FEC coding about a data packet in a transport stream layer is provided to reduce the capacity of a lateral R-S FEC code for the modification of the transmission error. CONSTITUTION: The number of consecutive data segments of basic transport streams is recorded in a bank of RAM(Random Access Memory). A crossing Reed-Solomon FEC(Forward Error Correction) encoder(7) reads crossing data segments of N bytes. A P parity byte exists in each crossing R-S FEC code. A assembler(8) assembles the crossing R-S FEC code by A data packet.
