In order to make light munitions (1) useful for battle field lighting cheaply producible and so that low storage capacities are required, the invention proposes that the respective light munition (1) comprise first lighting means (8) for illumination of the battle field in the visible wavelength range as well as second lighting means (9) for illumination of the battle field in the infrared wavelength range, wherein inside the light munition (1) a switching device (10) is provided for selective activation of one of the two lighting means (8, 9), said switching device being preferably activated from the outside. The two lighting means (8, 9) can each comprise a plurality of lighting elements.
