METHOD OF REDUCING POWER CONSUMPTION OF FMC TERMINAL AND FMC TERMINAL THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A method of reducing power consumption of an FMC(Fixed Mobile Convergence) terminal and an FMC terminal thereof are provided to enable the power-on operation of a wireless LAN service related module only in a wireless LAN service region. CONSTITUTION: WiFi module(150) searches an access point for a wireless LAN service. If an access point is detected, the WiFi module is connected to the access point. A control unit(130) uses the base station information provided form a mobile communication network to judge whether or not a current cell region in which an FMC terminal is placed is a candidate wireless LAN coverage. The candidate wireless LAN service region is a cell region covered by the wireless LAN service region. If the current cell region is the candidate wireless LAN service region, the control unit powers on the wireless LAN module.
