PURPOSE: A system and a method for tracing a position of an IP-based service user are provided to trace the position of a user efficiently even when providing an IP service by using fixed and dynamic IPs. CONSTITUTION: An aggregation switch(200) stores the information of a first aggregation switch port connected to a user terminal and the IP address information received from at least one user terminal based on an ARP(Address Resolution Protocol). A database receives the IP address from the aggregation switch and the first aggregation switch port information. The database stores the user position information corresponding to the second aggregation switch port information and the prestored second aggregation switch port information.
