PURPOSE: An image sensor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the crosstalk phenomenon and increase the sensitivity by forming a first micro lens on the bottom of the optical guide layer. CONSTITUTION: A light receiving element(15) is formed on a substrate(10). An insulating layer covering the light receiving element is formed. A metal wiring layer(30) including a metal wiring formed on the insulation layer and the interlayer insulation layer covering the metal wiring is formed. A trench having concave bottom is formed by selectively etching the metal wiring layer.
