PURPOSE: A digital average value generating circuit is provided to generate an average value based on arithmetic calculation and reduce the surface of a circuit and power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A latch unit(30) stores an output code of arithmetic unit(20) by responding to a sampling clock. The arithmetic calculation unit repeats calculation of a new input code. By responding to a clock signal of frequency lower than the sampling clock, an average value code latch unit(40) outputs an average code by latching an upper bit value except for the lowest bit value of predetermined number as reflecting a sampling number among output codes of the latch unit.
