The device (D) has an analysis unit for analyzing image data acquired by cameras (C1, C2) implanted at front and/or rear of a vehicle (V) to detect a part of circular form lighting object. A processing unit (MT) determines whether the object is located partially at the level of the vehicle (V), in case of detection of the lighting object. The processing unit delivers message requiring ignition of a headlight (PH) and/or taillights (FA), if the object is located at the level of the vehicle.
