PURPOSE: A communication terminal for electric field communication and an operation method thereof are provided to install a plurality of signal electrodes in the communication terminal, thereby performing electric communication without human contact. CONSTITUTION: A control unit detects the conversion of a mode if a normal operation mode is converted into a human body communication mode(513). The control unit measures signal strength by a signal electrode(515). The control unit selects a signal electrode that has the strongest communication strength among signal electrodes as an optimum signal electrode(517). The control unit performs electric field communication by using optimum signal electrode(519). If the human communication mode is converted into a general operation mode, the control unit completes the human body communication mode(521).
