PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum ultraviolet-excitable phosphor which is excellent in light-emission luminance, paste baking luminance maintenance ratio and luminance maintenance ratio by a gas discharge and has excellent coating properties and the discharge starting voltage of which can be adjusted and to provide a vacuum ultraviolet-excitable light emitting apparatus using the vacuum ultraviolet-excitable phosphor.SOLUTION: The vacuum ultraviolet-excitable phosphor, which is obtained by coating the surface of a particle of an alkaline earth metal aluminate phosphor activated by at least one activator of Eu and Mn with tungstic acid or tungstate, is excellent in light-emission luminance, paste baking luminance maintenance ratio and luminance maintenance ratio by the gas discharge and has excellent coating properties and the discharge starting voltage to be adjusted. The vacuum ultraviolet-excitable light emitting apparatus, which is excellent in light emitting properties, service life properties and coating properties, can be provided by using the vacuum ultraviolet-excitable phosphor. |
