PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based coating composition for color development, which contains a polymer latex mixed with a water-soluble cellulose ether such as an alkyl cellulose or a hydroxyalkyl alkyl cellulose as a flowability-improving agent, and can inhibit the change in the color development due to temperature, and to provide a method for stabilizing the color development of the composition.SOLUTION: There is provided the water-based coating composition comprising a styrene sulfonate and a water-soluble cellulose ether which is gelled by heating an aqueous solution thereof. In the water-based coating composition for color development, containing the polymer latex mixed with the water-soluble cellulose ether such as an alkyl cellulose or a hydroxyalkyl alkyl cellulose as a flowability-improving agent, the change in the color development due to temperature can be inhibited. |
