<p>The invention concerns a method of managing a traffic load of a network node (2), as well as a network node (2) and a computer program product to execute this method. The network node (2) receives a packet traffic aggregated from one or more concurrent application streams in a packet switched network (100). A number of the one or more concurrent application streams is estimated as a granularity of the packet traffic. A drop probability Pa is calculated based on the estimated granularity and the current traffic load of the network node (2).
