PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downright type surface light source with little color unevenness and a liquid crystal display using the same.SOLUTION: The surface light source (1) includes a plurality of light emitting means (10) which emit blue light, a first reflecting means (20) which is arranged on the rear side of the light emitting means and reflects light, a diffusing means (30) which is arranged on the front side of the light emitting means and diffuses light, a second reflecting means (60) which is arranged on the front side of the diffusing means, reflects a part of the incident light, and transmits a part, a wavelength conversion means (40) which is arranged between the first reflecting means and the second reflecting means and converts into a specific color light by transmitting a part of the blue light and mixing the other one part of the blue light with the transmitted blue light to make it white light, and an attenuating means (50) which is arranged between the first reflecting means and the second reflecting means and has an attenuation action to the light of the specific color. |
