摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control rod drive system whose simple and robust mechanism having high reliability, by detecting the condition where a holding current which does not become excessive, and maintaining the conditions, in stopping the drive of control rods in a control rod drive mechanism by using a canned reluctance motor.SOLUTION: The system which includes a control rod drive mechanism for controlling reactor power by vertically driving control rods 12 in a reactor; a canned reluctance motor 1a adopted as a power source for the drive of them; and a three-phase variable frequency power supply 60 for supplying motive power to the canned reluctance motor 1a a detecting means 64 for detecting the phase conditions of the output current from the three-phase variable frequency power supply 60; and a control rod stopping means 63, which detects the phase conditions both for cases where the phase difference among the three respective phases of the three-phase variable frequency power supply 60 is 120° and for where one phase of the three respective phases that becomes the zero point in the phase current and maintains the conditions for the power supply in the detection timing, and stops and keeps the control rods at their positions to which they have been driven.
